Course of Empire "Telepathic Last Words" 1996 version 1. Houdini's Blind 2. New Maps 3. Persian Song 4. The Information 5. Ride the Static 6. Kaptain Kontrol 7. Freaks 8. Respect 9. 59 Minutes 10. Cosmic Dancer In 1996, while still signed to the Zoo Entertainment record label, the band gave out several early versions of the album to friends and fans. These are preliminary mixes made by Chad Lovell before John Fryer was called in to produce and mix the final album, and before Dave Bianco later assisted with mixing duties. I believe all songs here were recorded by Chad at Telepathic Studio (aka Course of Empire Studio) in Dallas, except for Cosmic Dancer, which was left over from Initiation recording sessions in 1993. Cosmic Dancer is a T-Rex cover. All of the additional songs that ended up on the official TVT release of the album in 1998 were recorded after the ten songs represented here. These FLAC files were made from a CDr that I received from Jim Cahill, who got his CDr from a member of Funland, who received it from Mike Graff. I did some minor editing to remove gaps between songs, where songs were intended to flow together seamlessly, but these edits are not audible and I didn't do any other remastering. This is the best-sounding copy of early TLW mixes I've found, though I also have a lower quality cassette version which features a different order of songs and slightly different mixes and transitions. If this recording is shared online, please keep this info file with it. Please do not convert to mp3 files. I'm still looking for more live and studio recordings of the band, so please contact me if you have any! -thomas (webmaster@courseofempire.com) [First uploaded 10-8-2009]
